1176, is the estimated number of people killed by the police in 2022 in the United States, making it the deadliest year of all times. (Black people being three times more likely to be killed by the police.)
In this piece I crossed my very large glaze research around blood and my will to honor and denounce these atrocities.
Each drop of blood in this piece represents a life. 1312 represents the estimated number for 2023 if the deaths keep increasing like it did the past few years and it is also a little wink to the meaning of 1312 (ACAB or all cops are bastard) that we saw more and more during the Black Lives Matter protest all over the world.
